This tilt-wall concrete apartment building is located in an older area of Dallas with both business and housing. The tight 50-foot wide corner site was arranged with automobile circulation running behind the building, which allowed for street-side stoop entries and landscaped patios. The tilt-wall construction forms a simple structural envelope on three sides of each unit, with infilled fiber-cement siding over wood framing on the back wall. Unadorned window openings, scored regulating lines, and different textures animate the simple surfaces of the concrete.
